How Climbing Coaching Works

Step One: Individual Assessment

Firstly, you will be given a thorough 2-hour individual assessment with your coach. Your coach will assess your climbing and how you perform on a variety of physical tests to identify your current strengths and weaknesses and use these as a benchmark for your future coaching. You will receive written feedback to summarizing the keys points from the assessment and include suggested drills, session structures and exercises to work on in your own time. Step Two: Follow-Up Coaching

Based on the assessment your coach will create a series of bespoke follow-up sessions focused on improving specific aspects of your climbing to help you achieve your goals, whether that is making technical and tactical improvements on the wall, introducing structured training exercises to become physically stronger, fitter, and more robust or working on the psychology behind being able to push and enjoy yourself more.


Traning Plans

Should you want a longer, periodised training plan to continue with in your own time, just discuss your requirements with your coach. Our training plans are bespoke and usually feature a mix of structured climbing exercises completed on the climbing wall, supplementary climbing specific exercises such as finger boarding and conditioning and mobility routines written by a nationally qualified PT.
